Catholic Women’s League, Leschenault is one of a number of branches throughout WA. Each branches come under a State Council, who, in turn report to the National body.  In this way we influence legislative and administrative bodies at all levels of government in order to preserve the dignity of the human person. It has a particular interest in promoting and supporting the formation of women to meet contemporary challenges. We liaise with other organisations and faith communities for the respect of human rights with particular focus on women and children. CWL also fosters and awareness of cultural diversity and is the peak body in Australia for Catholic women. One of the ways CWL fosters ecumenism and inter-faith dialogue is through services held during the year at different Christian churches. Our branch had representation this month at the service for World Day of Prayer at Seventh Day Adventist church in Bunbury. Next year will be Leschenault Catholic’s turn - this service is open to all our parishioners as well as representatives  of all other Christian faith communities.

At our meetings we reflect on the following Sunday’s Gospel reading and plan future activities. We pray for sick parishioners and family members. At the end of our meetings we share a cuppa and delicious afternoon tea. This year CWLA are holding the biennial National Conference in Bunbury.  This will be an amazing opportunity for our local members to experience the League at a grand level. Guest speakers of the highest calibre will be travelling to Bunbury to share their considerable knowledge and experience with us.

All ladies in Leschenault Parish are invited to come along to a meeting and see for themselves what a valuable organisation it is and consider joining.
